Welcome to Hoftyzer Legal
Hoftyzer Legal provides legal services in the areas of business law, civil litigation, wills and estates, municipal law, administrative law and charitable law. The firm is proud to serve Toronto, Peel, Halton and the Niagara Region.
Gary Hoftyzer has diverse experience in solving complex legal issues for individuals and organizations. He believes it is critical to work with clients and their other professionals to create optimal results.
Gary attended Queen's University where he obtained his B.A. in History, with elective courses focusing on business and political science. He then obtained law degrees from Queen's University and the University of Western Ontario. In law school, he received the Robert G. Siskend Entrepreneurial Medal and Award, the Dr. Alfred Bader International Study Centre Award and the Allan R. Taylor International Study Award.
Following law school, Gary assisted two major recording artists with their business law requirements before practicing banking law in Toronto for two national banks. He also worked with one of Canada's top litigation boutique firms.
In his spare time, Gary enjoys a variety of indoor and outdoor sports, Toronto's arts and sports entertainment, as well as volunteering in the community and with his church.
